It spots potentially dangerous situations up ahead, and alerts you to take action. In the right situation, it even automatically applies the brakes if need be.

With EyeSight^® Driver Assist technology, your Subaru WRX Lineartronic^TM CVT is always on alert. Here’s how:

When the car in front of you moves at a green light, the car will let you know it’s time to go. So the driver behind you doesn’t have to.
Adaptive Cruise Control tracks the vehicle in front of you, keeping a safe distance to take the stress off having that unpredictable driver ahead.
If the accelerator is pushed by accident when an object is detected in front, EyeSight^® Driver Assist technology restricts engine power to help reduce the impact.
Pre-Collision Steering Assist applies greater steering assistance when you attempt to steer away from a detected collision ahead.
If the EyeSight^® Driver Assist technology senses lane sway or lane departure, it’ll warn you, helping you to avoid stepping on someone else’s line.
EyeSight^® Driver Assist technology can warn you of imminent impact. It also senses if you’re not acting fast enough – applying more stopping power as needed.

Sudden stopping, surprise roadworks, hairpin turns. Subaru WRX and WRX STI eliminate for extreme urban conditions with the electronic driver assist system, Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC). Featuring a range of stability and braking technologies, the VDC system steps in to help maintain your safety in extreme situations.

Constantly analysing through an array of sensors, VDC includes:

Electronic Stability Control: Helps you gain control if you unexpectedly understeer or oversteer, by applying brakes, reducing engine power and distributing torque.
Traction Control System: Helps you minimise your wheel slip by reducing engine power.
Anti-lock Braking System: Helps you stay in control by minimising stopping distance and maintaining vehicle control under brakes.

Less noise, more power. The impressive Boxer engine performance of Subaru WRX is at the core of its appeal. Sitting lower and flatter in the engine bay, the famous Subaru Boxer engine is designed to create less noise and vibration in the cabin, whilst the lower centre of gravity improves stability and traction on the road, meaning you can corner with even more confidence.

The Subaru WRX range delivers two powerful, turbocharged engines to choose from.

The Subaru WRX AWD and WRX Premium AWD feature the Direct Injection turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine. This gutsy performer delivers 197kW of power at 5600rpm and 350Nm@2400-5200rpm of torque.

The Subaru WRX STI AWD, WRX STI Premium AWD and WRX STI spec.R AWD feature the breathtaking turbocharged 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine. With 221kW of power at 6000rpm and 407Nm@4000rpm of torque, this one doesn’t mess around.

Smoother than smooth

Experience a smooth gear change, with no discernible steps or shifts, thanks to the Lineartronic^®CVT in the Subaru WRX. The first ever longitudinally mounted system for AWD vehicles, it optimises the gear ratios to the driving conditions – making for an even better driving experience.

Available in Subaru WRX AWD and Subaru WRX Premium AWD, Lineartronic^®CVT is extremely responsive whilst traversing winding roads and hills, with super strong pulling power and incredible smoothness in both urban and highway conditions. Sports Lineartronic^®CVT also offers a step shift feel.
